Lindsey & Boys at the Bells' House in Wisconsin (7-24-10)
As part of her most recent trip to this area, my daughter Lindsey arranged to stay for a few days with her "old" friends from college days, Doug (Notre Dame) and Molly (St. Mary's) Bell -- and their two kids, Owen and Julia. Lindsey had Cormac and Declan in tow -- hubby Brian had to work (he is an M.D. in Kansas). I did not get to see Doug, either, because he likewise was tied up at the hospital -- Doug too is an M.D. (anesthesiologist).
Molly and Doug’s home is absolutely gorgeous -- I wish I had taken some pictures of the exterior and more pix of the interior. I think it could be featured on one of those TV shows my wife Kerstin is always watching.
We spent a little time at the house, which was a nice break for me since I had just spent about an hour and forty-five minutes driving up from home (Wauconda Twp., Illinois). Lindsey and Molly dressed all the kids (except for baby Declan) in German outfits. Then we headed for German Fest on Milwaukee’s beautiful lakefront; this year was the 30th anniversary of this particular festival. We all had a great time.
I was pretty tired when I finally got home that night, but it was well worth it!
