Visiting Paula Schenck in MO_ Labor Day Weekend '08 : Kerstin and I, with our bulldog Daisy and pug Riptyde in tow, left our home outside Wauconda, Illinois, the morning of Saturday, August 30, 2008, headed for the wilds of Missouri to visit Kerstin’s former co-worker Paula Schenck. Last year Paula sold her condo in the Chicago area to start a not-for-profit horse rescue organization -- she calls it Freedom Hill. Her farm is located near the town of Salem, aka “Gateway to the Ozark National Scenic Riverways.” The photo captions offer a fairly detailed play-by-play of what we did. A good time was had by all.
