Beginning in 1975, the Waterloo High School Class of 1965 has organized a reunion every five years. I have attended each one, with the exception of 1990. This year (2010), as in 2000 and 2005, the event was held at Cold Springs Resort in Hamilton, Indiana -- which was also where many of us, long ago, went dancing most summertime Saturday nights.

Fries and wife Laura, Mr. Richard Bourquin, Mr. Kenneth Stump and wife Nancy, Mr. Larry Dove and wife Carolyn, Barb (Dunn) Heller and husband Jim Heller, Sandra (Payton) Ousley and husband Dan Ousley, Karen (Pfefferkorn) Walker, Nancy (Bricker) Carper and husband Marion Carper, Judy (Hill) Hanna, Dennis Sutton, Warren “Buff” Toneman, Linda (Sebert) Madden and husband Wayne Madden, Anne Pinnington, Anna Rose “Rosie” (Lockwood) Powers and husband Dave Powers (’63), John Phillips and wife Janet, John Girardot, Steve Ulm and wife Janice (Bolen) (‘67), Lee Friend and wife Sharon, Dick Payne, Margaret (Sabin) Carpenter, Larry Schlosser, Joe Eldridge, Carolyn Lesiuk and husband Mark Wulff, and Bob Friend. In the foregoing list, teachers and class members are named first, with each spouse’s names following; two spouses graduated from W.H.S. in different years, i.e., ’63 and ’67; most classmates listed graduated from W.H.S., but our invitations also went out to those who started with our class but later obtained their diplomas from other institutions (total of three attending classmates).
NOTE: For the purpose of simplicity in the captions below, the ladies of the Class of ‘65 are identified by the names by which they were known in our high school days -- with no offense intended toward their dutiful husbands! Also, unless otherwise noted, people are identified from left to right in all captions.
It was great to see these old friends and teachers. Those who could not, or chose not to, attend missed a wonderful time!
